Happy New Year!

Hello everybody!

I wish you all a Happy New Year! May the new year find you healthy, wealthy and loved!

Please find below some traditions for the New Year!

In Spain, the New Year’s tradition for good luck revolves around grapes. If you can manage to stuff 12 grapes in your mouth at midnight you’ve achieved good luck for the next year.

In Italy, tradition calls for lentils to be served on New Year’s Eve because they symbolize money and good fortune for the coming year.

In Portugal, it is tradition to keep some money in your pocket at midnight, to attract wealth.

In France, the evening often starts with a traditional dinner including foie gras, oysters, smoked salmon and champagne.

In the UK, the carol Auld Lang Syne became a tradition. The poem was written by Scottish writer Robert Burns in 1788, and the music was added after Burns’ death.

Happy New Year!

Christmas Carols

Hello everybody!

Please find below a selection of my favorite Christmas Carols!

Lyrics

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh,
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
Through the fields we go
Laughing all the way.
Bells on bob-tail ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight.

Jingle bells, jing-jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, brruup
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
Through the fields we go
Laughing all the way.
Bells on bob-tail ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight.

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh,
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh,
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin, Mother, Mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
